How to Read Our Ebooks on Your Device
All of the ebooks that we publish here at LittleWhiteEbook.com are formatted for Kindle devices and distributed through the Amazon Kindle Marketplace. That doesn't, however, mean that you must own a Kindle to save money and enjoy our ebooks.
All LittleWhiteEbook editions are Digital Rights Management (DRM) free. What this means is that you are free to read any of our ebooks across multiple platforms (your PC,ebook reader, and phone can all have the same ebook on them, for one low price.)
LittleWhiteEbook is one of many publishers that participates in Kindle's ebook lending program, allowing all of our customers to use the "lending" feature on Amazon. You can "loan out" any of our ebooks to a friend or family member for a period of two weeks at a time. During that time period, your ebook will not be available to you, just as if you've loaned out a physical ebook.
Amazon Kindle has several options available to Kindle and non-Kindle owners to help you read your ebooks in the most convenient way.
1. Own a Kindle? Simply purchase the LittleWhiteEbooks you want from the Amazon store. You can do this from your PC or your Kindle. To retrieve your new ebooks, turn your Kindle on. Make sure you are on the "Home" screen. From the Menu button, select "Turn Wireless On". Once you have turned on the internet, select "Sync & Check for Items" from the Menu. Depending on file size and internet speed, your new purchases should download within five minutes. Make sure you turn off the wireless when your items have finished loading to conserve battery life.
2. You can download Kindle for your PC, laptop, or Mac. Download Kindle for PC Today. Mac users click here for your Kindle software plugin. If you're a student, a netbook can drastically reduce the costs of owning both a laptop and an e-reader. Because of the compact size, it's convenient AND inexpensive. You can take your Netbook anywhere with wi-fi and access the internet for research, do homework assignments with basic word processing software, as well as download ebook reading software for your platform. 3. Own an Iphone or Ipad? You can still enjoy Kindle ebooks by downloading the appropriate app from the App Store. Iphone users click here; Ipad users, visit here.
4. Blackberry and Droid users can enjoy Kindle ebooks by downloading a reader app. If you own a Blackberry, visit here. Droid users click here.
5. Other devices are also compatible with Kindle apps. For example, cell phones and devices that use Windows 7 as an operating system can download a Kindle reading app here. Alternatively, if your system is compatible with .mobi files, you may be able to read certain ebooks files or use an alternative .mobi reader.
6. If it doesn't work, you can always convert. Calibre software offers a powerful ebook conversion tool that can help you convert files between reading apps. For example, you can use Calibre to convert .pdf files into .mobi files.
Loaning Out Your Kindle Ebooks
You can loan your Kindle ebooks from the ebook's product page or by visiting your Kindle Management page. If you know the title of the book you want to lend out, simply search for it and click on the product page. At the top of the page, it will state the date you purchased the ebook. Under the date purchased, follow the link that says "Loan this ebook to anyone you choose" and fill out the information about the borrower. You can only loan one copy of each title at a time.
You can also initiate a loan from the Manage Your Kindle page on Amazon. From this page, you can enter the borrower's name and e-mail address and a message to the recipient.
You can loan an ebook to anyone you want -- even if they don't have a Kindle or Kindle reading application yet. As a friend, you may want to point them in the right direction to download the app they need. :-)
